I was at a late afternoon portrait shoot and we wrapped up about 45 minutes before sunset. As I pulled away from the location I noticed the previously clear sky was starting to gather some light clouds. My gut told me it was going to be a good sunset, but I had no idea how good. I came across the bridge (the one in the shot) and drove down into Solomons. I grabbed my camera bag and tripod and started running from one end of the beach to the other. Then ran up to the boardwalk where I took this shot. If I hadn't rescheduled the shoot from the morning to the afternoon I never would have been there to see it. Sometimes Lady Luck is on your side.
